About Kane Kampmann

Kane Kampmann has lived and worked as a visual artist in Cologne since 1981. During and after her studies of free painting and illustration with Prof. Dank and Prof. Kolscheen-Richter at the Werkkunstschule Köln, she worked for Circus Roncalli, designed posters, murals and costumes, and worked as a stage and set designer for theatre, film and various television stations.

In the 1990s, in her own company for large-scale projections, she was responsible for the artistic realisation of a wide variety of national and international projects, including 50 Years NRW Düsseldorf, IBA - International Building Exhibition - Finale/Essen, EXPO 2000, Hanover, Opening of the Library, Alexandria and the Udo Lindenberg Tour 1992.

In 2013, she was involved in the planning of the interior design of the Cologne Central Mosque.

Her multimedia light installations Paradise is Elsewhere, Humboldt's Cosmos and le coeur in three Cologne city centre churches (St. Severin, St. Michael and Herz Jesu) fascinated almost 9,000 people on six evenings.

This was followed by the end of the war in Cologne, an exhibition at the NS Documentation Centre, an exhibition concept, illustrations, graphic novels and a façade projection on the Neptunbad as well as book illustrations for the book ‘Und wie werden alle in alle Winde verstreut! - Exclusion and murder of the Jewish population using the example of Cologne’ for the bpb.

The website ‘Die Jeckes - ein virtuelles Museum’, illustrations and live portraits were created as part of the 1700 Years of Jewish History in Cologne.

‘Occident & Orient - Architecture in Light’, which was already planned in 2020 for the 100th birthday of Gottfried Böhm and was postponed due to corona, could now take place in October 2023 in the Herz-Jesu Church in Schildgen, which was built by Böhm.
